Theresa "Terri" Durr

March 12, 1960 — August 25, 2021

A service to honor the life of Theresa “Terri” Durr will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10 am at the Bethel Methodist Church, with Bro. Brian Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home from 5 pm until 8 pm. God called her home on August 25, 2021 at the age of 61 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry Durr; son Brandon Durr and wife Dana; son Josh Durr and wife Maggie; grandchildren Tinley, Talan, Taten, Jackson, and Justin Durr; her mother Lorretta Lilley; brother Wayde Lilley and wife Janet; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Gene Lilley; mother-in-law Lillie Mae Durr; and father-in-law Earnest Durr. Terri was a warm and loving person who always welcomed people into her home and heart. She gave her love to those around her freely and has helped many of the people who came through her door with her kindness and giving heart. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She loved her boys. They were her pride and joy. She raised them to love the Lord and their family. “She always tried to keep her boys in line and attempted to get them to act right. They now wish they would have listened more” – josh She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. They brought her so much joy watching them grow. She loved attending their sporting events and celebrations of accomplishments. “She was a faithful servant, a role model, and a wonderful grandmother. She taught me how to love like Jesus, how to be a good friend, and to praise God through the trials. She was more than a meme. She was my best friend. Now she is my special guardian angel.” -Tinley You could always tell what season it was because she was either in the hunting stand or at the fishing camp. She treasured being able to share her passion for hunting and fishing, first with her husband, then with her two sons, daughters-in-law, her grandchildren, and parents. She loved her church and church family from Bethel. She was a Sunday School teacher who enjoyed sharing her love of God with all those around her. Her Faith in the Lord was truly a testament to all. Her story telling abilities might not have been very good as she tended to change stories before she could get halfway through one. All the while she was asking if you remembered the shirt Brandon wore when he was 3. She never forgot a memory. She was always the first to remind others of wonderful past times. Her favorite quotes to tell people were “I ain’t lying”, “do you remember”, and “you just make me sick”(that was mainly toward her brother and nephew). She was the butt of many jokes especially from her brother Wayde, but she was an easy target and never got upset over it. She will always be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman. There is no doubt that she is in celebration with her savior in Heaven. “As a deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God.” Psalms 42:1-2.
