A Mass of Christian burial for Roy Cedars will be held at 2 pm on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Rev. Derek Ducote officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17, 2021 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary at 6 pm. Henry Roy Cedars, Sr. of Natchitoches, LA passed away on June 16, 2021 at his home in Natchitoches. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Joseph Cedars, Sr. and brother, Winston Cedars. He was also preceded in death by his beloved in laws, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ardis M Lauw. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving two years in Korea during the Vietnam War. He, with his parents, operated Cedars Towing Service for over 30 years until an illness caused him to retire early. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and trusted friend. He is survived by his Loving wife, Mickey Lauw Cedars, his sons, Samuel L. Cedars and wife Frances of Natchitoches, Henry R. Cedars, Jr. (Skeeter) of Baton Rouge, LA, Joseph A. Cedars and wife Sarah of Many, LA, his daughters, Destiny K. Cedars, Morgan Cedars Burton and husband Marshall, and Taylor Cedars Rivers and husband Dakota, all of Bossier City, LA. He is also survived by his brothers, Wilson Cedars Jr (Jiggs) and wife Diane of Alexandria, Stacy Cedars and wife Carolyn, and Kerry Cedars and wife Mary all of Natchitoches; his sisters, Vikki Lou Cedars of Magnolia, AR, Mary C. McManus of Montgomery, LA, his dear twin sister, Henrietta “Joy” Cedars of Shreveport, LA, Sonia Greer and husband Mark of Oakdale, LA, and Camille Cedars LaCaze of Natchitoches, Sister in Law, Terri Steadman Cedars, and eight grandchildren, Landon Cedars, Layla Cedars, Peyton Cedars, Caroline Cedars, Joseph “Jac” Cedars Jr., Brooklyn Burton, Beckett Burton, and Beau Burton, and his devoted dog and friend Boone. He will be remembered by all for his work, and dedication, his sense of humor, and his devotion to his family as well as his love for watching the New Orleans Saints. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed attending mass. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. Pallbearers will be his son, Samuel Cedars, grandsons, Landon Cedars, Jac Cedars and Beau Burton; his son-in-laws, Marshall Burton and Dakota Rivers; and dear friends, David Rushing and Vilfried Metoyer, III. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in love of Roy to The American Diabetes Association, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
