Paul Lee Foshee, Sr. passed away November 8, 2020 at his home. He was born November 12, 1932 in Natchitoches, LA to George W. Foshee and Mamie Lee Smith Foshee. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George “Sonny” Foshee and Lane Foshee; infant daughter, Christie Cheryl Foshee; sons, George Barnes “Barney” Foshee and Lane Chase Foshee; daughter-in-law, Jane Rhodes Foshee; son-in-law, Ed Poole; and grandson-in-law, Gary Meadows. Paul is survived by his children, Paul Lee Foshee, Jr. and Fran Foshee Poole of Natchitoches, LA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Heather Meadows of New Orleans, LA; Katie Kromis and husband Roger of McKinney, TX; Brandon Foshee and wife Megan of Magnolia, AR; Justin Foshee and wife Mandy of Natchitoches, LA; Laura Carrington and husband Carlton of Double Bayou, TX; Timothy Poole of Natchitoches, LA; Tyler Poole and wife Ericka of Baton Rouge, LA; and Lane Chase Foshee of Cape Coral, FL. Survivors also include 12 great grandchildren, 4 nieces, and his long-time companion, Patsy Jackson. In 1950, Paul graduated from Natchitoches High School. June 24, 1952 he began his career as a crop duster with the business he created, Foshee Dusting Company. Flying was his passion. He spent his leisure time flying his private plane. In 1961, he completed his studies for a bachelor’s degree in business at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Paul served in the State House of Representatives from 1960 to 1964 and the State Senate from 1972 to 1976. Paul was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and York Rite Mason. Paul loved to hunt and spent many winters hunting in Uvalde, TX. Quail hunting was his favorite. In early years, he spent his time deer hunting in Madison Parish at his family’s hunting camp. In addition, he loved to spend time gardening, reading, and studying the stock market. The family would like to send a special thank you to Monique Davidson, Janet Mills and Hospice of Natchitoches for their devoted care. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Shriners Hospital for Children at 311 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches with Bro. Buster Jordan officiating. Visitation will be from 10 am until 1:30 pm on Saturday the 14th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Justin Foshee, Brandon Foshee, Randy LaCaze, Terry Sklar, Jacque Matt and David Bailey.
