John Adams Nicholas,II

A service to honor the life of John Adams Nicholas, II, will be held at 11 am Monday, September 20, 2021 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Russell Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 19th from 5 pm until 10 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. John, 63 years of age and a resident of Flora, LA, passed away at his home on September 14, 2021. He was born on December 25, 1957 to Dr. John Adams Nicholas, Sr. and Jo Ann Lovelace Nicholas in Starkville, MS. John earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mississippi in Oxford of which he was very proud Ole Miss Rebel. His career was a life of service to the people in Natchitoches Parish. John was the Fire Chief of Natchitoches Parish Fire District No. 5, an EMT with Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for over 18 years, and also sat on the 911 Commissioners Board. He spent countless hours volunteering with Natchitoches Parish Fire District No. 6 and responded to numerous scenes through mutual aid agreements with Fire Districts 1 and 4. John was always an asset on scene and was willing to provide any resources he had available to help in any way. For over 21 years his primary career consisted of being a part of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety Petroleum Gas Commission as a Conservation Enforcement Officer/Inspector, which required him to respond anytime there was a hazardous issue pertaining to LP Gas. He will forever be remembered as a great provider and loving husband, son, father and cherished friend to many. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 26 years, Patricia Garlington Nicholas; his mother, Jo Ann Nicholas; daughter, Angie Beaudoin and her husband Bryan. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John Nicholas and a sister, Rhogena Ann Nicholas Tuttle. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Bobby Garlington, David Garlington, Justin Fredieu, Tony Bennett, Terry Bennett, and Bryan Beaudoin. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow members of the Natchitoches Parish Fire District No. 5 Fire Department.
