Willie Edward Vercher

A Mass of Christian Burial for Willie Edward Vercher will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 8:30 until 9:30. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Cody Vercher, Mason Neal, Matthew Vercher, Cade Corley, Matt Vercher, Ormond LaCour, Steve Vercher and Scott Vercher. Willie was born on August 8, 1939 in Cloutierville, LA to Willie Vercher, Jr. and Laurine Kerry Vercher. He passed away on July 15, 2022 in Alvarado, TX. He is survived by his son, Jeff Vercher and his wife, Melanie; his grandchildren, Cody Vercher, Emily Vercher, and Mason Neal; and one brother, Michael Vercher. Willie is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Martha Ann Vercher; his second wife, Barbara Vercher; his son, Paul Edward Vercher; his daughter, Judy Carol Vercher; and a brother, Francis Vercher. Willie was a very giving man, putting others before himself. He loved taking care of people, especially disabled children. He often brought toys to the orphanages for the children. He was an active member of the Lion’s Club, he loved to country dance, he loved his family. He will be dearly missed.
