Waverlyn Louise Maroney was born in Shreveport, LA on May 14, 1947, to Louise James Maroney and Waylon Dave Maroney. She departed this life on October 7, 2020, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Maroney and her stepdaughter, Kelly Dae Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Robbie D. Wilson; her son, Waylon Maroney; her daughter in law, Ratana Maroney; and grandchildren, Mathew Maroney and Alena Maroney. She is also survived by many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Waverlyn grew up in Pleasant Hill, LA, attended and graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. She attended business school and worked several jobs until she retired. Waverlyn lived most of her adult life in northwest Louisiana and lived in Natchitoches with her husband Robbie since 1989. Waverlyn had three great passions in life. She loved her dogs and other critters and spoiled them rotten. She also loved to talk and tell stories of her and others lives (often embellished) and had a great knack for remembering and describing in great detail the stories told. He third passion was genealogy research, which she spent countless hours on the web tracing her and others ancestry, and became quite skilled at it. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Beulah Methodist Church in Marthaville, LA, visitation beginning at 10 AM and services at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Joe Powell, Sam James, Lane James, Jerry Smith, David Levy and Johnny Emmons.
