Wanda Thomas Bynog, age 68, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home in Natchitoches, Louisiana, after a long illness. She loved cooking, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, needlecrafts, hummingbirds, cats, and the color purple. But most of all she loved her family and friends. Wanda was born to Doyle and Margie Ozee Thomas, in Shreveport, Louisiana, on March 6, 1951. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mark Bynog; daughter Jennifer Bynog Greene, of Jonesboro, Arkansas; son David Michael Bynog, of Houston, Texas; brother Edward Thomas, of Coushatta, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Patrick Greene, Daniel Greene, and Amanda Greene, all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda worked for many years as Head Cashier/Front End Manager at A & P Grocery Store and is fondly remembered by former customers and coworkers for her infectious laugh and sassy sense of humor. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, May 10 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 11 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Chaplain Buster Jordan and Father Craig Scott officiating. Interment at L. C. Weaver Memorial (United Baptist Church) Cemetery will follow the service. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Daniel Greene, Jason Greene, Patrick Greene, Joe Grishom, Alan Leeps, and George Willis. Throughout her life, Wanda was a passionate supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the family would gratefully welcome donations to that organization in lieu of flowers.
