A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Vera Carnahan Mariner will be held at 10 am Monday, February 21, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Charlie Ray serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Sunday February 20th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm on Sunday the 20th in the funeral home chapel. Vera was born on December 25, 1925 to Adam Carnahan and Jessie McGlothin Carnahan in Chopin, LA and passed away in Natchitoches on February 13, 2022 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Vernon Carnahan and Carroll Carnahan; 2 sisters, Clara Spillman and Doris LaCaze; 2 granddaughters, Tara Suttles and Jessica Spillman; and a grandson, Saxon Spillman. She is survived by 3 sons, Donnie Spillman and wife Patty, Billy Spillman and wife Ann and Jim Spillman and wife Pat; a daughter, Janice Mil Nichols and husband Jack; 1 step-son, Max Loffgren; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Her grandsons will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
