Venita McLaughlin Scott

Born May 17, 1934 went home to be with our Lord August 13, 2020, She was preceded in death by her youngest child Will Scott, her mother, father and step-mother. She is survived by her children Allison and Gwen Scott, Becky Scott and Tom and Lori Scott; her grandchildren May and Eric Thomassee; Mallie and Mitch Bowers; Al Scott; Anne and Luke Mahloch; Matt and April Scott, Emily Scott and her great grandchildren Bella, Caleb; Brody, Mattison, Liam; Marley, Parker and Linley. Venita was a very strong loving person and she lived a life of courage and taught her family to live this way too; she was the “Roux to the Gumbo”. Granny knew that In God’s word He promises for His children a peace that surpasses all understanding; and she found that peace described in her favorite hymn, Amazing Grace. Granny is at home now and is looking forward to seeing you there! Graveside memorial will be September 12, 2020, at 10:30 AM at Memory Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Venita Scott may be made to Holy Angels Residential Facility (laholyangels.org) Shreveport LA.
