Memorial service for Mr. Troy Jackson, Jr. will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Central Baptist Church in Robeline with Pastor Claude Weatherford and Bro. Mike Tanner officiating. His wishes were to be cremated and his remains will be buried in Lambert Town Cemetery in Robeline. Troy, 66 years of age, passed away on Tuesday, March 30th at his home with his loving family surrounding him. He was born on August 19, 1954 in Montgomery, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Jackson, Sr.; his mother, Hazel England Nelson; and the man he considered his dad, Bo Nelson. Troy was a people person and he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He had a soft spot in his heart for under privileged children and freely opened his home to take care of their needs. He worked for many years with RDS Construction, mainly as a roofer, but there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. We take comfort in knowing that on March 30th when he took his last breath with us, he took his first breath in heaven with his savior Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 43 ½ years, Vickie Townsend Jackson; daughter, Tiffany Jackson and Barrett Buxton; sister, Martha Holland; grandchildren, Hayden Nelson, Skylar Thompson, Lauren Thompson, and Easton Thompson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and 4 great nieces. There were some special people in Troy’s life that he considered family, Janice and Louie Freeman, Sara and Steve Elias, and Tammy and Danny Graves. A special thanks to Hospice of Natchitoches for the compassion and care they provided Troy during such a difficult time.
