Tonya Gene Reese

Tonya Gene Reese went home to Jesus on March 15, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held by her family and friends on her birthday July 8 at her home in Flora. Tonya was born in Jacksonville Beach Florida on July 8, 1967 to her parents Eugene Preston Book and Lynn Straughan Book. Tonya’s life was radically changed in September of 1998 when she was involved in an auto accident. Tonya never complained she continued to live to the fullest setting an example of acceptance, courage, forgiveness and love to all who knew her. Tonya was preceded in death by her father Eugene Preston Book. Tonya was survived by her mother Lynn Straughan Book, her children Jimmy Newton Pruitt III, Kayla Lafaye Pruitt and children (Aliyah And Waylon) John Allen Reese Jr. and children (Sky, John lll and Anikan) and Jonathon James Reese and wife Serina. Tonya was a second mom to Terri’s children Natessia and husband Chris Williams, Johanna, Gwendalyn and Ricky and wife Shelby. A brother James Preston Book, and a sister Terri Lynn Book and husband Troy. She was survived by many great nieces and nephews. Tonya was also survived by her companion and the love of her life Kenneth Ray Jordan. God, you gave Tonya to us 54 years ago. She was an example to all of how to live life and we are thankful for the time we had together. We give her back to you now secure in the knowledge that when we meet again our Tonya will be running up to greet us on two healthy legs. Amen
