A memorial service will be held June 5, 2021, at 2 PM at Oasis of love Fellowship, 7681 Hwy 1 By-Pass, Natchitoches, LA 71457, for Thomas Alton Manry, 84 years of age – beloved husband, Dad, Pawpaw, Sarge, and Friend. Tom was born January 29, 1937, in Livingston, Texas. On may 21, 2021, after several illnesses, God called our beloved home. Tom served 21 years in military service, receiving an honorable discharge on November 30, 1976. Upon retiring from the UA Army at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, Staff Sergeant Thomas A. Manry accepted a position at Natchitoches Central High School, where he assisted with opening the JROTC program and established the Natchitoches Central Cavaliers competition drill team. After retiring from Natchitoches Central, Tom moved south to Luling, LA, where he took a position as a tool manager at Monsanto Chemical Plant. A few years later, when his first wife (Johnnie Hammett Manry) became disabled, he finally completely retired to care for her. After her death, he returned to Natchitoches. Thomas A. Manry is survived by his wife, Carmen Manry; his children Tina Manry, Jeff Manry (wife Janet), Dale Manry (wife Margaret), Tami Manry Self (husband Dwayne), and daughter-in-law Adina (wife of Tommy, dec.); stepsons Jason and Shane Quarles; grandchildren Nissa Fulton, Darla Powell, Waylon Ordoyne, Josiah Abigail, Gabriel, Ezekiel, Caitlyn Manry Chiristensen (husband Chad), Rebecca, Robert Smith (wife Lisa), Jon-Thomas Smith (wife Whitney), David Smith (wife Nicole), Christina, Harlee, Autumn Manry Dyess (husband Timmy); step-grandchildren Malory Jordan, Tyler Singletary, Ayden Quarles, Addie Quarles, Ryleigh Quarles, and fancy Quarles; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Johnnie Faye Hammet Manry; his son, Tommy John Manry (wife Adina); and stepdaughter, Melinda Quarles. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to Picou Clinic, Lagniappe Home Care, and Hospice of Natchitoches.
