A Celebration of Life for Theresa “Granny” “Terri” Scott will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Wimberly Cemetery in Ringgold, La at 2 o’clock. Officiating the service will be Brother Ford Pickering and Sister Linda Chance.

Theresa Annette Mahfouz Scott, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Born on March 24, 1943, To the Late Abe and Grace Mahfouz.

She lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep grace and a boundless love for her family. Terri was a loving and devoted wife to her Late husband William “Bill” Scott.

She is survived by her sister, Carla Bond Shanahan and husband Kevin. She was a loving and devoted Mother to her daughters: Stacey LaCour and husband Curtis and LeeAnne George, and her special Niece who was like a daughter Melanie Huff and husband Joseph.

She cherished the moments with her Grandchildren: Colie Hall and Kris, Kayla Wooten and Scott, Taylor Lodridge, Zach George and Savanna, Grayson George and Savanna, Alyssa LaCour

She was so proud of her beautiful Great Grandchildren Gracie Northcutt, Liam George, Alaric George, Anne George, and her Honorary Great Grandchildren: Levy, Mckinnley, and Chase Manasco and Khloe Hall. Terri is also survived by her loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terri was a School Teacher in Desoto Parish for 20 years. 12 years in 4th grade at Stanley and 8 years in 7th/8th grade math at Desoto Junior High. Terri lived in Mansfield, La until 1991. She moved to Natchitoches to enjoy retirement and her grandchildren until 1999 when she moved to Black Lake.

She was a faithful and devoted member of her church and was loved and respected so much by her church family and was affectionately adopted as Granny to many. She absolutely adored her Lord Jesus and His Church. Her favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm and her favorite song was “In the Garden”, both of which express the intimate, personal joy of walking closely with Jesus and talking with Him daily.

Her hands were rarely still, she expressed her love through her hobbies which included crocheting, plastic canvas, ceramics, and oil painting.

She made prayer crosses with prayers that have been given out too many people. She loved giving her handmade gifts to loved ones. It became a true ministry and her gifts will always be treasured.
