Theresa Coutee was born on September 24, 1931 and started a new journey on September 25, 2024 at the age of 93.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Fannie Metoyer, and her 15 siblings, the father of her 9 children, Frank Beaudion, Sr.; her second husband, JD Coutee; her daughter, Dorothy (Nunu) Beaudion; her son, Larry Beaudion; daughter-in-law, Ida Nell Beaudion; grandson, Frankie; great-granddaughter, Megan; granddaughter, Brittany; great-grandson, Christian; and her beloved pet, Lil Moma, who brought great joy to her life.
She leaves behind to grieve for a season, her daughter, Shirley; sons, Frank, Jr., Lester, Ricky (Carolyn), Michael (Annie), Nathan (Gwen); and her caregiver daughter, Terri; along with 112+ grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She worked in the cotton fields of Louisiana where she lived a simple life. In the late 1950s, she and her family moved west to California where she did factory work, all while raising her children and being a housewife. (Yes, she did it all!) And she always did it without complaints!
She was an exceptional mother to her children, instilling in them the need for God in their lives. She was a very strong woman, strong in her Christian faith, and the power of prayers.
She loved feeding people, and it didn't matter who. she just loved to cook; Cooking was an absolute passion for her. She loved playing jokes an doing funny things to make people laugh. She loved going to church. Being in church was a comfort to her. She would always be at church an hour early just to pray. She always said, "To be successful in life, always trust in God and put him first." She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and so many memories that her children will always treasure.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to their cousin, Betty Jean Dysynske of California, who has been a strength and comfort. They would also like to thank the staff of Lagniappe Home Health Care of Natchitoches for their services; Heart of Hospice of Alexandria, La; her nurses, Courtney, Mark Lauren, Judy, Leeann, Tori, Heather, and Emily for their utmost professionalism in caring for Theresa; her social worker, Tim; and her Chaplain, DC. Thank you all for your compassion. And a big thank you to the nieces for helping with the service.
