Terry G. Waxham

Terry G. Waxham, 81 years of age and a resident of Marthaville, passed away April 18, 2021 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center after battling a long illness. He was born on March 8, 1940 to Hiram and Pauline Waxham in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents. Terry’s formative years were spent in Pleasant Hill, LA but his family moved to Shreveport and graduated from Byrd High School. He worked and ultimately retired from AT&T as an accountant after many years of service. After retirement, in 1998 he moved from his long-time home in Shreveport to Marthaville, LA. In his spare time, he enjoyed being a Civil War historian and buff. His extensive knowledge of this time in American history was vast and he and his family made several trips to battlefields and important landmarks. He was always ready with his metal detector to uncover a relic from the time period. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Litton Waxham; a daughter, Tammy Waxham; a son, Clay Waxham; sisters, Evangeline and Paula; and a brother, Tommy. He was blessed with 2 grandsons, Wade Gandy and Sterling Waxham as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Hernandez, the ICU medical staff and nurses at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and the medical staff and nurses at LA Extended Care for their compassionate care given to Terry.
