Sybil Dianne Carter (Granny Red) 78, of Natchitoches passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in Natchitoches. She was born on July 18, 1945 to her parents Oriel and Wilma Hartwig. Sybil sought happiness through people, she was a social butterfly and loved everyone she met.

In addition to her parents Sybil was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Donald Carter, two sons Jerry Donald Carter II and Lucian Scott Carter. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Kris Carter and Nathanial Carter. Three daughters-in-law’s Kim, Amy, and Hazel. Ten grandchildren: Jennifer, Jerry, Brooke, Kristy, Amy, Lucian, Holly, Stephine, Nathanial, and Christopher. Twenty-seven great grandchildren that she cherished above all else. Granny Red will be missed by so many; she was truly one of a kind.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. In honor of her wishes a cremation will take place after the service.
