Shelton "Blackie" Naron

Funeral services for Shelton “Blackie” Naron will be held at 3 pm on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until service time on Friday the 19th at Blanchard-St. Denis. Shelton, 71 years of age and a past resident of Natchitoches, passed away on August 16, 2022 in Minden, LA. He was born on August 1, 1951 to Annie Cox Naron and Travis C. Naron in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Mabel O’Con, Gladys Sims, Myrna Jo Hebert, and Ross Smith. He is survived by a sister, Vera Geneva Young as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Blackie was a veteran of the armed services and was honorably discharged in 1970. He was well loved by his family and friends because he possessed a great personality. Always seeing the best in people, his optimism in his fellow man was second to none. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
