Early in the morning on Friday, October 8, 2021, Rose Ann Hennigan died in at surrounded by her immediate family. She was 82 years old having only recently celebrated her birthday on September 21st. She died from complications of metastatic breast cancer which she previously had beaten in 2018. Born September 21, 1939 to Covey and Lela Mae Ingram of Converse, LA, Rose was their first of four children. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class from Marthaville High School. Shortly after, she married Dewey Raymond Hennigan on August 16, 1959. Raymond and Rose Ann had two children, Richard Alan and Rhonda Ann. In September 2006, she helped establish the Beulah United Methodist Church Prayers and Squares Ministry. She moved to Bethel Congregational Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill and re-founded the quilt ministry there. Over 1500 quilts were hand-made and gifted to individuals who were sick or recovering from surgery or injury. Rose Ann touched nearly every quilt. She cut, pinned, hemmed, tacked, washed, and delivered the quilts. The congregation of the churches lovingly and faithfully prayed over each quilt as each tacking thread was tied. The Prayers and Squares Ministry was her calling from God; to use her talents and time to support and love those in need. She is survived by her eldest child, Richard Alan Hennigan; his wife, Sharon Kay Archer Hennigan; and their daughter and Rose Ann’s only grandchild, Erin Renee Hennigan; all of Houston, TX. She is also survived by two of her siblings, her brother, Jeff Ingram, and his wife, Marilyn of San Antonio, TX, and her sister, Sarah Sue Ingram of Chandler, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Dewey Raymond Hennigan; their daughter, Rhonda Ann Hennigan; her youngest sibling, James “Jimmie” Ingram; and both her parents, Covey Ingram and Lela Mae Middleton Ingram. Her last dessert was a Mini Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard, no caramel. A service to honor her life will be held at 2:15 pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Jennnigs officiating. A private family only burial will follow at Marthaville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until service time on October 12th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
