A memorial service to honor the life of Roland Reed Steadman will be held from 9 - 11am, Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Ave., Natchitoches, LA 71457

Reed was 93 years old and was born July 2, 1933 in Natchitoches Parish and passed from this earth on July 4, 2026. He was a resident of Robeline, LA.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne "Bonnie", his parents Sam and Mary (Cox) Steadman, two sisters Sammie Baul and Gene Campbell and four brothers WS, Pierce, Sam and Hayward Steadman.

He is survived by his three sons Russell Reed "Rusty", Richard "Roland", and Marlon Egon, and one step-daughter Jean Cheatwood, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

After an honorable discharge from the United States Army, Reed spent his life as a farmer and cattle rancher in Natchitoches Parish. He was a gifted storyteller and had an impressive garden up until he was 92 years old. He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished.
