Rodney Lane Achord, age 65, passed away on August 17, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Born in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Rodney was a lifelong resident devoted to his family, his community, and above all, his faith. He worked for many years for the City of Natchitoches where he served as a lineman and a staking engineer. After retirement, he served as an electrician in Natchitoches and the surrounding areas.
Rodney had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting, but his greatest passion was serving the Lord. He was a faithful servant who spent his Sundays preaching at the Courtyard in Natchitoches, sharing the hope and peace he found in his Savior. His unwavering faith shaped every part of his life, and even in his final days, he took every opportunity to share the Gospel with those around him.
Rodney's most heartfelt prayer was for his children and grandchildren to come to know the Lord. He lived his life as an example of what it meant to walk in faith, and his legacy will continue through the lives he touched with his words, service, and his love.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A service to honor his life will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Ben Keele and Bro. Tommy Rush officiating.
