David Edward Allen, age 78, of Natchitoches, Louisiana passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Carpenters House. David was born October 3, 1946 in McAllister, Oklahoma. He is the son of the late Frank and the late Georgia (Brooks) Allen. David graduated from Fairpark High School in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1964. David married Frances Perry on February 6, 1965 in Shreveport, Louisiana. David joined the United States Air Force and served in Thailand as a jet mechanic during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged in 1970 as a Staff Sergeant. David, Frances and their two daughters, Jeri and Kathy, moved to Natchitoches, Louisiana in 1975. David accepted the role of Senior Pastor at what is now known as Oasis of Love Fellowship. In February 2025, David and Frances celebrated 60 years of marriage. In May 2025, David and Frances retired from pastoring Oasis of Love after 50 faithful years.
David devoted his life to building the kingdom of God. Whether he was standing in a pulpit or in a checkout line at the store, he never passed up an opportunity to talk about Jesus. He loved making people laugh, fixing a problem, and jumping out from behind the door to scare you. He was gifted in auto body work; he could build and manufacture most anything, and he was filled with knowledge on many topics. He could quote scripture after scripture without skipping a beat, and you’d often find him strumming his guitar singing songs about Jesus and desiring to meet Him in heaven.
David is survived by: his wife, Frances Perry Allen; his daughters, Jeri (Young) Kilpatrick of Natchitoches, LA and Kathy (David) Wampler of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Tim (Martha) Allen of Muskogee, OK; and grandchildren; Tarah (Nick) Lott, and Ethan Parker. He was preceded in death by: his sisters, Joyce Dobbins; brothers, George and Freddie Allen; and his parents, Frank and Georgia Allen.
