Graveside service for Jacky Nelson will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2023 at Beulah Methodist Church Cemetery near Marthaville, LA.

He is survived by a son, David Nelson and wife Donna Collins Nelson of Natchitoches; daughters, Jackie Nelson Arthur and husband Rodney of Stonewall, LA and Vickie Karen Nelson of Natchitoches; grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Williams and husband Jeremy Williams of Natchitoches, Brittany Churchman, Lauren Elizabeth Nelson, Kelli Arthur Maggio and husband Drew Maggio of Shreveport, Kayla Arthur Terrell and husband Dane Terrell of Natchitoches, Ashley Arthur Laird and husband John Laird of Shreveport, Michael Pleasant and Sean Hendry; great grandchildren, Nicole Williams, Everett David Williams, Declan Thaxton, Madisyn Maggio, Cayden Maggio, William Terrell, Sydney Terrell, Sarah Beth Terrell, Caroline Terrell, and Ashley Louanne Hendry.

Jacky was born on October 12, 1932 to Carrie “Missy” Nelson in Marthaville, LA.  He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife and childhood sweetheart, Joy Faye Nelson.  Jacky and Joy married on August 20, 1951 and shared 72 years of marriage together enjoying hunting, fishing but especially enjoyed dancing as a couple.  He was a long-time member of Beulah Methodist Church and enjoyed fellowship with his church family.  He proudly served in the United States Airforce and retired at the rank of Technical SGT with over 20 years of dedicated and honorable service.  He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by everyone who know and loved him.
