Mrs. Ropp was born on August 22, 1930 in Georgetown, LA and passed away on December 28, 2021 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Quincy moved to Bossier City, LA with her parents and attended elementary and high school there. She was the only majorette to lead the outstanding Bossier High School Band for three years and for that honor she was named to the Bossier High School Hall of Fame. She graduated from Northwestern College in 1952. Quincy taught the third grade for 25 years in Bossier and Natchitoches Parishes and was an outstanding teacher and loved all her students and they loved her. After retirement, she enjoyed home living and yard work, especially with flowers. Being a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Natchitoches, she had many friends as she was also a member of First Baptist Church and a loving Sunday School Class called Couples Too, for many years. Mrs. Ropp was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. and Gladas Waites Lincecum; a cousin, Gary Nugent; and an uncle, Sherwood Waites. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Ropp; many loving cousins, Linda Hollaway and husband W.C. of Georgetown, LA, Jan Porter and husband Larry of Galveston, TX, Judy Johnson of Centerpoint, LA, Shelia Roberts of Alexandria, LA, Troy Lincecum of Longview, TX, Darlene Loston of Urania, LA; an aunt, Sandy Waites of Orange, TX; and a sister-in-law, Fran Ropp of Fairfax, VA; as well as extended family and friends. Quincy was a wonderful, sweet lady, a loving wife, and her winning ways will be missed by all. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jimmy Berry, John Millar, Donnie Johnston, and David Kees. The family suggest memorials made in her honor to First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, 508 2nd Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457. The family would like to thank Hospice of Natchitoches and the Natchitoches Nursing and Rehabilitation staff for their dedicated service.
