Preston R. Milam, Jr., known by many as “Rusty”, passed away Sunday March 20, 2022 at his residence in Natchitoches. He was born on October 22, 1957 to Preston Milam, Sr. and Melva Singletary in Long Beach, CA. He retired from Halliburton after many years of service and was proud to be a veteran in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1976. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Milam, Sr.; a daughter, Marie Yvonne Butcher; a grandson, Zachary Huff, and step-father, Robert G. Singletary. He is survived by his mother, Melva Singletary; a long-time friend, Bonnie Cook; children, Laura Huff (Jerry), Virginia Milam (Bruno Silva), Preston G. Milam (Sarah), and Hannah Milam (Tommy Bross); grandchildren, Derian, Cade, Alyssa, and Brielle Huff, Marcus Cobb, Preston Marshall, Valentina and Victoria Milam Silva, Harper Milam, Carter and Hailyn Miller, Rhett Glass, and Amayia Bross, Kayla Collins Milam, and Brooklynn Bross Milam; sisters, Karen Smith and Sharon Cobb (Sonny); as well as many nieces and nephews. A service to honor his life will be held at 10 am Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Bjornberg officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at New Cedron Cemetery in Vowells Mill, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, March 23rd at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Tommy Bross, Grady Milam, David Bruke, Sterling Thompson, Troy Sulzer, and Dakota Sulzer.
