Pearl Ethelene Bright

A family graveside service for Ethelene St. Andre Bright will be held at Memory Lawn Cemetery on Friday, September 10th at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate her life. She was born December 1, 1927, and died September 7, 2021, with members of her family at her bedside. She would tell you that she was a blessed woman to have been married to Sidney Williams Bright, Jr. in 1947. He passed away during their 43rd year together. Church has always been an important part of her life, enjoying Sunday School as a small child and then later was baptized by her father into the Baptist Church. After her marriage, she joined Sid in the Methodist Church and has been an active member ever since. She served as the first Educational Assistant of her church under the direction of Pastor George Pearce. Following her work there, she was employed at City Bank and Trust for several years but left to assist Sid in his new business “Sid Flowers.” Ethelene was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney W. Bright, Jr., her parents, Gilbert H. St. Andre and Iliene Drewett St. Andre; her daughter, Sarah Bright Maines; Granddaughter, Paula Windham Geoghagan; and Sons-in-law Leslie W. Windham and William T. Maines. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Bright Windham and Rhonda Bright Kuhlmann and her husband, Lee. Her five grandchildren include Shannon Windham Oberle (Mark), Zachary Kuhlmann, James Kuhlmann (Hailey), Matthew Maines (Shelli) and Melissa Maines; Nine Great Grandchildren- Austin and Braden Oberle, Ian and Gavin Carrasquillo, Miller and Lawsyn Maines, Hannah, Charlotte, and Juliette Kuhlmann, Brother, Dr. Dwight St. Andre (Chione), Sister, Polly Holly (Bill), and many loving nieces and nephews. *In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Natchitoches, LA or the charity of your choice.
