Paul Salard Jr, 88, passed away peacefully in his home in Cloutierville, LA on September 15, 2022. Paul Jr was born in Chopin, LA on August 10, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Salard, Sr. and MaeBelle Ebert Salard, sister Kathryn Morgan, brother Joseph “Pete” Salard, and sister Geneva Salard. Paul Jr is survived by his wife of 57 years, Daisy Longino Salard, sons Paul Salard III and wife Carla, Charles Brent Salard and wife Argyn, and Michael Sean Salard. Twelve grandchildren; Theron Salard who resided with his grandparents since he was 4 years old, Charles Salard, Jared Salard, Tiffani Salard, Shauna Smith, McKailey Salard, Megan Busby, McKenzie Salard, Destiny Salard, Tarineka Jones, Hailey Dulay, and Gavin Salard. Five great grandchildren; Charlie Salard, Gabriel Salard, Draya Salard, Aubrey Smith, and Hudson Busby. Paul Jr loved his family and cherished each and every one of them. Aside from his family, one of Paul Jr’s greatest devotions was to the United States Navy. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1951. During his service he served in the Korean War. Paul Jr retired honorably from the Navy after 11 years of service. He went on the pursue a career at sea working over 40 years as a tugboat and supply boat captain in the oil industry. These two careers allowed him to travel all over the world, but his favorite place was at home spending time with his family and cheering on his favorite sport teams: the LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, and Boston Red Sox. He loved working outdoors in his yard and garden. He was a member at St. John the Baptist Church in Cloutierville, LA. A memorial service will be planned for a future date.
