Paul O'Con

Lovingly known as Polito or Papa by his family, Paul O’Con brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was born in Spanish Lake to Maggie Rodrigues O’Con and James Peter O’Con and lived in Powhatan most of his life. Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter. He helped his father and brother with auto mechanic work and worked as a ranch hand in the Powhatan, LA, area. He succumbed to complications due to Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 88 in Shreveport, LA, on August 24, 2021. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. on August 27, 2021 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Paul is survived by his sister Retha O’Con McLean and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Lee Roy O’Con, Victor Joseph O’Con, Reed James O’Con, Louis Eugene O’Con; and his sister Agnes O’Con Corrales. Funeral services will be held on August 28, 2021 at 10 am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA.
