Patricia Diane Floyd, age 74, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of August 17, 2024. Patricia, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver, touched the lives of many with her warmth and selflessness. Born on January 7, 1950 to Curtis and Verlon Larkin, Patricia dedicated her life to caring for her family. She lovingly cared for her children, her mother, and her two disabled sisters.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Tommy Floyd; her parents, Curtis and Verlon Larkin; her in-laws, Johnnie and Bessie Floyd; and her siblings, Juanita Dobson (Bill), Geraldine Cotton (Brandon), Betty Larkin, Charles Larkin, and Julian Larkin. She was also preceded by her sisters-in-law, Johnnie Gorham (Jack), Shirley Broadway, and her brothers-in-law, Ernest Colston (Gayle), Chester Gibson, Elton Jenkins, and special family member Jim McArthur.
Diane, as most knew her, worked for the Clerk of Courts office under Irby Knotts for many years until she had her second child. She then assumed the roll of full time mom and caregiver.
Diane was a talented sewer and cook, known for her loving spirit and the joy she found in her creative pursuits. She cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She took great pleasure in viewing nature from her living room windows, often sharing her observations and the beauty she saw with those around her.
She is survived by her sister, Francis Larkin; her children, Kim LaCaze (Stacy) and Kurt Floyd (Melissa); and her grandchildren, Garrett, Braylen & Addison LaCaze, and Emma Floyd, her niece (that was more like another sister) Linda McArthur, her sister-in-laws, Theresa Gibson,. Kathy Warren (Danny), Dottie Jenkins (Jack) & Gilda Jenkins and one brother in law Jimmy Floyd (Shirley), along with many other nieces and nephews
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19th from 5 pm until 7 pm at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. A graveside service honoring her life will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, August 20th at Central Cemetery in Robeline, LA.
