Patricia Louise Clark

February 22, 1946 — July 2, 2024

Patricia Louise Johnson Clark was born on February 22, 1946 in Houston Texas to Gladys Marie Golforb Johnson and James Allen Johnson. She was the youngest of four children.

Patricia grew up in Houston, graduating Sam Houston High School and spending two years at the University of Houston before transferring to and graduating from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

In August, 1970, Patricia married Kenneth Hulen Clark of Vowell’s Mill, Louisiana, whom she met at a church meeting in Houston. Hulen was a great support to her during their almost 54 year marriage. They had two children, Robert, born in 1973, and Barbara, born in 1974. In 1983 Patricia returned to school and in 1985 she received a Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

After spending several years at home with babies, Patricia went to work for the welfare office in Leesville and transferred to the Department of Children and Family Services in Natchitoches. When she ended her career with this agency in 2002, she had served as worker, supervisor, and regional program specialist. A second career began when Patricia was offered a job to teach for the Social Work Department at Northwestern State University. When she retired from this career in May, 2023, she had served as a tenured associate professor and Director of Field Instruction.

Patricia died at home in Provencal on July 2, 2024. She is survived by her husband (Hulen) and children (Robert of Key West, Fl and Bobbie of Coeur d’Alene, ID), three granddaughters - Kylee Clark of Logan, UT, Brianna Clark of Logan, UT and Alexis Clark of Washington State. She is also survived by her brother Robert Johnson (Sharon) of St. Hedwig, TX and sister, Fran Drown (Steve) of Utah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia dearly loved all of her family, those far and near.

Graveside services will be held at 10AM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Red Rock Cemetery in Vowell's Mill.
