Olea Mae LaCour

Olea Mae LaCour was born on April 4, 1930 in Cypress, LA to Bennie Dillon and Ella Gallien Dillon. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine Simmons; husband, N. L. LaCour; son, Ronald LaCour; and a great-grandson, Bryce Manasco.

She is survived by her daughter, Carloyn LaCour Lodrigue; son, Curtis LaCour and wife Stacey; seven grandchildren, Sean Lodrigue and wife Kelsey, Shane Lodrigue and wife Crystal, Alyssa LaCour, Kyle Smith, Colie Hall and husband Chris, Kayla Lodridge, Taylor Lodridge; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Lodrigue, Jacob Lodrigue and wife Natalie, Jayden Lodrigue, Parker Martin, Gracie Northcutt, Levi Manasco, McKinly Manasco and Chase Manasco; three great-great grandchildren, Levi Lodrigue, Landri Lodrigue and Lainey Lodrigue.

A long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Natchitoches, she was a woman rooted in faith. “Granny”, better known as” Little Granny”, was an avid bingo player and also loved to fish. She worked countless hours in her yard and grew beautiful roses. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She passed away on Monday, November 27th in Natchitoches.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Irion St. Romaine serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, November 29th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 pm. Visitation will resume from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, November 30th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Darren Simmons, D.J. Simmons, Jerry LaCour, Larry LaCour, and Jerry Longlois. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
