Odell Cobb, passed away the morning of June 11, 2025, at the age of 90 in Robeline, Louisiana. Born on April 18, 1935, in Provencal, Louisiana, Odell dedicated her life to education and family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, love, and resilience.
Having earned her Master’s degree in Education from Northwestern State University, Odell taught elementary education in the Natchitoches Parish School System for many years. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was evident in her vibrant classroom, where she inspired countless students to pursue their dreams. Beyond her role as an educator, Odell was a diligent Avon salesperson, showcasing her strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
Odell's passion extended beyond her professional endeavors; she had a love for arranging flowers, often crafting beautiful floral arrangements for her family members. Those who received her gifts were always touched by her thoughtfulness and creativity.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Andriana "Mandy" Hernandez and her children Ayanna and Amayzsa Hernandez, her great-granddaughter, Brittany Moran, as well as numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. They carry forth her spirit and memory, reflecting the love and values she instilled in them.
A proud mother, Odell cherished her children dearly, unfortunately Roger Moran and Gwendolyn Moran Hernandez preceded her in death. Odell was also preceded in death by her parents, Barney Lee Cobb and Edith Clark Cobb; her grandson, Kerry Moran; and she was the last remaining of her eight siblings. Her family remembers her not only as a dedicated educator and hard worker but also as a woman who embodied strength and compassion.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy will continue to resonate through the generations she so lovingly nurtured.
