Octavia "Puddy" Powell

Octavia "Puddy" Powell lost her battle with cancer at midnight on March 12, 2020. Puddy was a sweet and loving mother and was a member of the Conception Church Choir for many years. She was also President of the Natchitoches Lions club and retired as a Vice-President from Exchange Bank and Trust of Natchitoches. When her girls were younger, Puddy was a Girl Scouts of America group leader. Puddy loved to read and read 20 or more books every month. She was a wonderful cook and a fabulous conversationist and could talk intelligently on a variety of subjects. She was preceded in death by her father J. Paul Powell and her mother Mageline Derbonne Powell. Puddy is survived by her life-partner Don Toney, daughter Kim Bowen, and daughter Jenny Settles and 2 grandchildren. She will remain in our hearts forever.
