Murline Finuf, affectionately known as “Meme,” passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 103.

Born December 5, 1922, Murline lived a long and full life centered around her faith, family, and friends. She was a gentle, God-loving woman who enjoyed attending church, cooking, and spending time with those she loved.

Murline had a way of looking at life that was captured perfectly in her high school yearbook:

“Murline Cooper — she tosses her troubles in a box, sits on the lid and laughs.”

Another favorite passage of hers, attributed to Milton Berle, reflected her outlook on life:

“I’d rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I’d rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might-have-been has never been, but a has was once an are.”

To her family, Meme will be remembered for the simple things: her cooking, her singing, and the comfort of sitting beside her on the porch swing. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories shared with those who knew and loved her.

Murline was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Wilton Finuf; her sons, Marion William Finuf and Robert Eugene Finuf; her father and mother, John Cooper and Nancy Williams; her siblings, Willis Cooper, Irma Hamilton, Bernadeen Herridge, Fredie Cooper, and Howard Cooper, as well as her beloved Aunt Lena and Uncle Cott, who raised her and cared for her as their own.

She is survived by her son, Richard Lee Finuf (Teri); her grandchildren, Danielle Edwards (David), Stephanie Burks (Travis), Ashlee Lee (Louis), Hannah Raggio (Joseph), Vanessa Reon, Shawn McGary, Kaleb Cryer (Nichole), Cassidy Cryer, Falan Fox (Stephen); and her great-grandchildren, Nick, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Karlie, Makayla, Natalie, William, Logan, Lathan, Raegan, Bailey, Kason, Adalee, Jaicee, Abigail, Samuel, Bailey (River), Scarlett, Everleigh, Ellie, and Kane; along with extended family and friends.
