Funeral services for Mathias Joaquim da Gama e Silva, Jr. will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Coulee Bethel Cemetery near Campti, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on Wednesday the 26th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mathias, 71 years of age and a resident of Campti, LA, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil on May 5, 1950. At the age of 6 he moved from Brazil to the United States. He was a graduate of Campti High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from NSU. He retired from the paper mill in Campti, LA after many years of service in the maintenance department. He was a loving father who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias Joaquim da Gama e Silva, Sr. and Martha Clark da Gama e Silva; a sister, Anna Maria da Gama e Silva; and a brother, Ernesto da Gama e Silva. He is survived by his daughters, Bridget da Gama e Silva and Amber Hawn; his fiancé, Debbie Terral; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
