Mary Pearl Stark

September 30, 1943 — July 31, 2019

Mary Pearl Stark, born on September 30, 1943, in Sherman, Texas, passed away after a strong battle against pancreatic cancer.  Family was the most important to her and it started with her marriage. Mary and Bill said, “I do” in Vinton, Louisiana on December 26, 1966. They were blessed with nearly 53 years of marriage.  Mary was preceded in death by brothers Roland and David McBride. And sister Joyce Franklin. Mary is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Stark, siblings Lloyd McBride, Hazel McBride, and Cheryl Donovan; daughters Carolyn Deardorff, and husband Gary, and Marjorie Barrilleaux, and husband Clay. Her grandchildren Alicia Yarrish, and husband Teylor, and Alex, Arianna, and Sasha Barrilleaux; Mary also leaves behind a great-grandchild, Greyson Yarrish, to remember her love. Numerous nieces and nephews are left with memories of her personality as well.  Mary began her family in 1969 and from then on it was her priority. Alongside Bill, she raised her children to know and love God and his word, instilling “what’s right”, and showing them endless love. She not only raised her children this way but taught and treated others with the same love and respect.  Her willingness to help others, her relationship with Jesus, and her spirited personality never wavered. She enjoyed gospel music, “funnies”, and above all, spending time with her family.  Mary’s church family was always just as important as her biological family. She touched lives and built friendships over her lifetime across many cities and states.  Let this be a celebration of Mary’s life and accomplishments knowing that she has left this imperfect place to be with her Savior.  Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Light Way: A Church of the Nazarene.  Burial will follow at Friendship Nazarene Cemetery near Ft. Jessup, LA.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time at Light Way: A Church of the Nazarene located at 112 East 5th Street, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Mary’s love for children has prompted us to create a memorial to help with expenses associated with Louisiana District Children’s Camp.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to Louisiana District Children’s Camp, C/O Dajunna Howell, 1419 Willis Street, Monroe, LA 71291.
