Mary Kathryn Unger Youngblood

Mary Kathryn Unger Youngblood was born on December 8, 1941in Sullivan County, Indiana to William Unger and Edna McComas Unger. Mary spent the first 18 years of her life in Indiana before moving to Alabama.

While living in Alabama Mary met her future husband David who was in the U.S. Army. Together with their children, David and Mary traveled from the east coast to the west coast and everywhere in between.  Mary was an RN and worked in the ER at NRMC for 30 years before retirement. Mary loved her job and was always a comfort to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Donald Unger and Wilma Unger Payne.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 63 years David Youngblood of Natchitoches, daughter Mary Northcutt and husband Dennis of Natchitoches. Son James Youngblood and wife Carolyn of Nacogdoches, Texas. Sister-in-law's Mildred Unger of Sullivan, Indiana and Evelyn Carnahan of Chopin, Louisiana.  Grandchildren Dennis Northcutt, Jr and wife Karen of Many, David Northcutt of Natchitoches, Erich Johnson and wife Dianne of Selman City, Texas, Andrew Youngblood, Sara Youngblood and Susan Youngblood all of Elkhart, Indiana, Patrick Erath and wife Erica, Tim Erath and wife Katie and Thomas Erath all of Hemphill, Texas.  Great Grandchildren include Bailey Northcutt, Landen Rivers, Gracelyn Northcutt, Memphis Northcutt, Haley Johnson, Skylar Johnson, Mickel Shearer, Evan Shearer, Kimberly Shearer, Callum Morrow, Anthony Erath and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Northcutt, Jr, David Northcutt, Bailey Northcutt, Patrick Erath, Tim Erath & Thomas Erath.

A graveside Service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches.
