Mary Jane Coutee

Mary Jane Coutee was born on October 5, 1954 in Natchitoches Parish Hospital to her parents, Harry Coutee (deceased) and Carrie Jane Coutee.

Mary went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2023 at the age of 69.  Mary spent her career mostly in the medical field, however, retired from the City of Hobbs, New Mexico Fire Department processing medical claims.

In all her accomplishments, she was an advocate for the elderly.  She helped them with understanding their medical bills and placing phone calls for them to ensure they were accurate.  Mary also assisted them with getting extra help with their medical prescriptions.

Mary was an excellent cook and spent a lot of time preparing meals for her family.  She was also a thrifty shopper and was extremely good at finding bargains for everyone.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, Carrie Jane Coutee; sisters, Sharon Dunn (Ray) of Marshall, TX and Michelle Adams (Tim Adams deceased) of Robeline, LA; brother, Harry Coutee, Jr. (Wanda) of North Hollywood, CA; her aunts, Josephine Sarpy of Bermuda, LA, and Theresa Metoyer of Marshall, TX; nieces, Michelle Dunn, Kenda Dean, and Evann Coutee; nephews, Steven Dunn (Morgan) and Harrison Coutee; and great niece, Khloe Soto and great nephew, Christian Boss.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle, LA with Father Bill Gearheard serving as celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 9 pm on Friday the 29^th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7:30 pm in the funeral home chapel.
