Mark Daniel Welock, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born on February 23, 1960, in Atlanta, GA, but spent most of his life in Natchitoches. His childhood was filled with adventures with his buddies, roaming along the banks of the Cane River behind his family home on Shoreline Drive. He was proud to be known as a "Shamrock Park Boy."
Mark was a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. He was a highly-skilled carpenter and worked mainly around the Natchitoches area. Mark had a zest for life that extended beyond work. He cherished the freedom and adventure that came from riding Triumph motorcycles, a hobby that brought him immense joy. He also enjoyed camping, listening to classic rock music, and watching historical documentaries. Mark loved animals, and he could usually be found with a devoted dog or cat by his side for most of his life.
Mark's adventurous spirit will continue to live on through his family and friends. He is survived by his niece, Margaret Gilbert, and her husband, Brad, of Navarre, FL; and a great niece, Kayleigh Gilbert, of Jacksonville, FL. Mark will also be fondly remembered by his close friends who became family - Ross Desadier, Ben Fallon, and Scott "Scooter" Winn.
Mark was preceded in death by his loving parents, Dan and Marion Welock, and his sister, Vernita Kay Welock.
Concluding cremation, Mark will be laid to rest at Memory Lawn Cemetery next to his beloved parents and sister.
