Dude Vascocu, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Prairieville surrounded by family on Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born on September 8, 1928. He was a native of Natchitoches and a resident of Prairieville. He was retired from LSU Cross Bred Cattle Department with 33years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Cherry White and husband Neal; two sons, Jerry Vascocu and wife Mary, Marty Vascocu and friend Nita Clary; son-in-law, Harry Richardson, and sister-in-law, Mayo Vascocu; twelve grandchildren; Mark White and wife Tonya, James "Craig" White and wife Tami, Ryan White and fiance Lisa, Joey Vascocu, Jayme Vascocu, Codi Dupuy and husband Teddy, Jay Richardson and wife Leslie, Kasey Rishton and husband Darrick, Jason Vascocu, Brittany Vascocu, Brandi Woodrome, and Melanie Clary. Twenty-two great-grandchildren; Brayleigh and Rylie White, Madison and Mhyli White, Chase and Cameron Richardson, Kennedy, Max, and Brody Rishton, Kelsey Borne, Baylee Baldwin, Austin, Dason, and Hadley Dupuy, Natalie Mills, Kori Reulet, Kaden Vascocu, Mariah Vascocu, Kain and Skylar Odom, Payton Greggoire, and Arianna Silvestri. He was preceded in death by his wife Isker Mae Duraso Vascocu, daughter Debra Sue Richardson, parents Monroe Vascocu and Amanda Scroggins Vascocu, three brothers; Ucie, Troy, and David Vascocu and two sisters; Erble Langlois and Marlee Magee. Pallbearers will be Mark White, Craig White and Ryan White, Joey Vascocu, Jay Richardson, and Thomas Nicholson. Honorary pallbearers: Jason Vascocu, Randy Wright, Neal White, Harry Richardson, and Randy Johnson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Bridgeway Healthcare & Hospice for their care, especially his nurse Evangelean and aide Victoria. Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St. Gonzales, on Wednesday, August 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, 848 Keyser Ave., Natchitoches, LA on Thursday, August 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 19, from 8:00 a.m. till service at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA.
