Marielise Sampite Brosset

A Mass of Christian burial for Marielise Sampite Brosset will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 AM. Marielise was born on September 3, 1921 to Alphonse Sampite and Bathilda Guillot Sampite in Cloutierville, LA. She passed away on March 13, 2023 at home surrounded by her family at 101 years young. She was the last of the 13 Sampite children, preceded in death by her parents; 12 siblings; her husband, Milton Brosset; her daughter, Diane Brosset; and granddaughter, Deanna. She is survived by her son, Marvin Brosset; daughter, Lisa Brosset and her husband, William Wallis; her grandchildren, Deidra, Monica, Korey, Kasey, Greg, Bridget, & Cecilia; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Although Marielise had several jobs during her lifetime, she was a retired secretary with Equitable Life Insurance Company. And until she turned 93, she was a sitter for those in need. She had a great faith that brought her through life challenges and kept her going. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
