Marie Ann Monette

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Marie Ann Monette will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 5 pm until 9 pm. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 pm. Marie Ann Rachal Monette, “Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother,” was one of sisteen children, born on January 13, 1947 in Pineville, LA to Leon Rachal, Sr. and Adelice Mary Beaudion Rachal. She departed this early life on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was the loving and devoted wife of McKinley Monette, Jr. for 57 ½ years, and to this union, 5 children were born, the late McKinley Peter Monette, Julia Ann Monette (Gene), Joey Monette (Bernadette), all of Natchitoches, LA, Stephanie Bayonne (Harrison), of Cloutierville, LA., and Brian Keith Monette (Jackie) of Winnfield, LA. She also raised two of her grandchildren as her own, Joey T. Monette and Niaya Sharice Monette, both of Natchitoches, LA. Marie is preceded in death by her son, McKinley Peter Monette; grandson, Joey Monette, Jr.; both parents, Leon and Adelice Rachal; brothers, Erwin Rachal (the late Mattie), John Rachal, Clyde Rachal, and Edward Rachal; sister, Allie R. Aaron (the late Lawrence “Bobby). Those who remain to cherish her memory include her loving husband, McKinley; her 4 living children, Julia, Joey, Stephanie, and Keith; sisters, Gustina R. Labom LaCour (the late James LaBom and Eugene LaCour), of Cloutierville, LA, Mary R. Condi (the late John), of Derry, LA, Lillie R. Moody (Richard, and the late John Irvin), and Elizabeth Rachal, both of Natchitoches LA; brothers, Leon Rachal, Jr. (Beverly), Larry Rachal, both of Natchitoches, LA, James Rachal (Patricia), Anthony Rachal (the late Angela), Joseph Rachal (Demance), all of Mississippi, LA, Leo Rachal (the late Bobby), of Shreveport, LA. Marie also rejoiced in the birth of sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many friends.
