Marie LaCour, 76, of Natchitoches, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2025, leaving behind many who will miss her dearly. She was born on February 3, 1949, in Natchitoches to Alphonse Sr. and Josephine LaCour, the sixth of seven children. She grew up in Cloutierville, Louisiana, surrounded by her siblings and close family
Marie lived a life marked by hard work, and an unforgettable spirit. She spent many years as an operator with Tennessee Gas before retiring. She loved cooking for those she cared for and many of the families she sat with embraced her as one of their own.
She had a deep and abiding love for her nieces and nephews, cherishing them as if they were her own children. Her home was always immaculate, her garden bursting with life. Marie had a passion for antiques, jewelry, and shopping—and she was never one to pass up a trip to the casino. With a vibrant, larger-than-life personality, Marie brought light and laughter everywhere she went leaving friends and family with lasting memories of her laughter and warmth.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse Sr. and Josephine LaCour; and siblings Annie Mae, Samuel, Estelle, Alphonse Jr. (DeeDee), and Hyman. She is survived by her loving sister Dianne and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
