Margie Ann Monette LaCour

December 26, 1940 — November 9, 2021

A mass of Christian burial to celebrate the life of Margie Ann Monette LaCour will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA. Father Christian Ogbonna will be officiating the services. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on the morning of the service at the church. Visitation will began at 09:30 with a recitation of the rosary at 10:30am. Our beloved Margie Ann Monette LaCour was born on December 26, 1940 to the late Clarence Monette Sr. and Rosalie Beaudion Monette in Cloutierville, LA. Margie graduated from St. Matthew High School and later married the love of her life, the late Samuel J. LaCour Sr. From this union they had two sons that she adored, Samuel J. LaCour, Jr and Craig LaCour. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Society. After many years of service, she retired from the Natchitoches Parish School system. Margie also would spend many summers and weekends working at the Bayou Folk Museum in Cloutierville. Margie’s life passion was being a true caregiver and focusing on her family. She was also patiently awaiting the arrival of her new great grandson but Jaxon arrived one day too late. She was a devout Catholic who looked forward to weekly mass and religiously prayed the Rosary. She especially loved to participate in various events such as church fairs and fundraisers. You would never leave Margie’s house hungry. She loved to cook and feed anyone who would sit down and eat. She would often share her cooking secrets with her grandchildren. She enjoyed zydeco dancing and festivals. She had a zest for clothing, purses and shoes and was naturally talented at altering and ironing clothing. Margie’s natural humor and authenticity would brighten any room. She had a special love for animals, particularly her latest fur baby, “Menou”, who was her pride and joy for many years. In her spare time, she loved to read fiction and comic books; she frequently cut out funny snippets and placed them around the house. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Monette Sr. and Rosalie Beaudion Monette, her siblings: Clarence “Claude” Monette Jr., Eugene “Budlow” Monette, Michael James Monette, Prudhomme Monette, Gloria Monette Rachal, and Rosabella Monette Sarpy. Margie leaves wonderful memories to be cherished by her sons, Samuel J. LaCour, Jr. (Nikki), Craig LaCour (Nenie); her sisters, Iris Monette of Houston, Texas and Dorothy Conant (Willie) of New Iberia, LA; her grandchildren, Brandon LaCour, Lakin LaCour, Hope LaCour, Quintin Raggio, Taylor Campbell (Branden), Caitlin LaCour, Madison LaCour and Caden LaCour and a host of nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
