Margaret Pauline Holland Chesser, 78 of Natchitoches, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Trinity Baptist Church (527 Howard St. Natchitoches, LA 71457) Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Trinity Baptist Church (527 Howard St. Natchitoches, LA 71457) with Bro. Ron Thompson officiating.   Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery in Ashland, Louisiana. Arrangements are by Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Margaret Pauline was born in Red River Parish to Mrs. Clodelia Wren Holland and Mr. Henry Ray Holland on Monday, December 15, 1941, at 2:00 am.  Margaret Pauline Holland grew up between Natchitoches and Red River Parish. She was known to her friends and family as “Pauline” or “Dean” around Ashland and Chestnut. She went to school at Ashland High School and took courses at the Natchitoches Trade School. Margaret was married to Morris T. Chesser Sr. on August 7, 1961. Morris and Margaret owned and ran the El Comino Restaurant in Natchitoches, Louisiana from the mid-’70s to the mid-’80s. She worked as a bookkeeper for Beall Ladymon Corporation and then retired at City Bank & Trust in Natchitoches. Throughout her life, Margaret was a strong, compassionate, faithful loving woman of God. Her home church is Trinity Baptist Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very special to her. Before her only daughter passed away in November 2018, Lisa Ann and Margaret shared the most special of relationships. “They could talk without a word being spoken”. Margaret also had a great love for her pets, Rocky and Pumpkin. She also had many other loves in her life including selling Mary-Kay cosmetics and flower gardening. Margaret Pauline Holland Chesser is preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry R. Holland & Clodelia W. Holland, her husband, Morris T. Chesser Sr., her daughter, Lisa Ann Chesser Borders, Maternal Grandparents, Young C. Wren & Mary “Tulue” Dickson Wren, Paternal Grandparents, Elvis Holland & Annie Stewart Holland,  her sister, Josie Lee Scott Ball, and her brother Donnie R. Holland. Margaret is survived by her two sons, Terry Chesser & wife Mary of Ashland, and Jerry Chesser of Alexandria. Her two brothers, W.J. Scott of San Antonio, Tx and Bill Holland & wife Susan of Marshall, Tx. And, her Sister-In-Law, Martha Holland of Marshall, Tx. Grandchildren, Kaleb Chesser & Alexis Stewart of Natchitoches, Jared Chesser of Natchitoches and Rachael Chesser of Natchitoches. Great-Grandchildren, Dylan Lott of Natchitoches, and Marcus & Isabella Martinez of Natchitoches. Many nieces, nephews, and too many cousins to list! Pallbearers will be Kaleb & Jared Chesser, Fred & Joe Holland, and Rex & Ray Holland. Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Dale & Billie Cox. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be sent to her beloved daughter’s memorial scholarship fund, at the NSU. NSU Foundation Lisa C.
