Mack Allen Wall

April 10, 1939 — July 15, 2025

Mack Allen Wall, born on April 10, 1939, in Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. His life was marked by dedication and service, both to his country and to the field of education.

Mack served honorably in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1963, achieving the rank of Radioman 3rd Class. His time in the Navy included significant training at submarine school and he proudly served on the USS Baracuda, USS Balao, and USS Threadfin, with assignments that took him to places such as Guam and Key West, Florida.

After his military career, Mack transitioned to education, a field where he would leave a lasting impact. He began by working briefly in the oilfields of Kansas before enrolling at Northwestern State University. Demonstrating remarkable commitment, he earned his bachelor’s degree in education in just three years, followed by a Master’s in Supervision and Administration from NSU, and was shy of completing his doctorate studies by only needing to submit his thesis. His educational journey set the foundation for a career dedicated to nurturing young minds.

Mack’s career in education saw him take on various roles: he spent two years at NSU Junior High, followed by five years at East Natchitoches. He also served as principal for one year at Gorum and five years at Robeline. Mack culminated his career as the Superintendent of Maintenance and Transportation for the Natchitoches Parish School Board, retiring in the early 2000's. Throughout his career, he was known for his commitment to his students and his contributions to education in the community.

Mack is survived by his two daughters, Denease Vercher and husband Craig and Tracy Maxey and husband James; four grandchildren, Laren and husband Zack, Logan, Reagan and wife Rachel, and Madison; one great grandchild, Dylan Maxey; and a brother, Aubrey Kip Wall and wife Kristin. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Aubrey Wall and Juanita Grace Fife Wall, and a brother, Raoul Duffy Wall.

Mack Allen Wall will be laid to rest in a private family graveside service at Pine Hills Cemetery in Olla, Louisiana.
