Louis L. O’Quinn, age 77, of Flora, Louisiana, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020. The funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at noon at St. Anne Catholic Church on Old River. Louie was born on August 26, 1942 in Crews, La near Montgomery. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his many friends. He attended Natchitoches High School and joined the Louisiana National Guard at age 14. He served for 37 years and attained the rank of Chief Warren Officer III. Louie went to work for the Guard as a mechanic and as an inspector. He retired after 28 years and he started C & L Repair Service. He enjoyed welding and it was said “If Louie can’t fix it, you may as well throw it away.” Louie enjoyed golfing and hunting with friends, ranching and farming. He was one of the organizers of the Flora Rodeo Club. He was a member of Cane River Campers and was on the Board of Directors of Natchitoches Water Works District #2. Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Mary Lou Wallette O’Quinn; three brothers, Adrian Jr., Nat, and Danny O’Quinn, six sisters, Inez Bryant, Myrtis Hernandez, Billie Hale, Jackie Flynt, Patsy O’Quinn and Martha O’Quinn He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol Rachal O’Quinn, his son Tony O’Quinn, his daughter Kathy Clark, and son-in-law Mickey Clark all of Flora. His six grandchildren are Amber Comeaux (Carl) of Lake Charles, La. , Greg O’Quinn (Cierra) of San Antonio, Tx, Madeleine Packer (Nick) of San Austin, Texas, Jessica Clark, Kyle Clark and Faith Clark of Flora, La. His five great-grandchildren are Lola, Graham and Reece Comeaux of Lake Charles, La and Benjamin and Teddy O’Quinn of San Antonio, Tx. He is survived by one sister, Merry Jo Grayson of Natchitoches, La. a brother, David O’Quinn (Aletha) of Baton Rouge, La., a brother-in-law, Bob Rachal (Rhonda) of Flora, La. and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Chuck Wyatt, James Philen, Mike Pierce, Paul Grayson, Tillery Flynt, Ambrose Airhart, Jerry Bailey and John Rathburn. Honorary pallbearer will be members of Cane River Campers, Danny Methvin, Roger Howell, Bubba Dunn, CD Brazzel and Stanley Longlois.
