Lori Ann O'Bannon Savell

May 16, 1971 — August 24, 2021

Lori Ann O’Bannon Savell, entered eternal rest on August 24, 2021. She was born to Marguerite Ann O’Bannon, May 16, 1971. She was the apple of her Paw Minor’s eye and he always referred to her as his baby. When she was growing up where ever you saw Minor you saw Lori Ann. She met and fell in love and married her beloved husband, Kelby Savell, on May 15, 1999. Lori Ann was proceeded in death by her grandparents, “Paw” Minor Gibson O’Bannon and Vesta Murray O’Bannon. As well as her mother, Marguerite “Margie” Ann O’Bannon, her mother-n-law, Beth Holland and a special sister, Pamela Gandy. Lori Ann is a lifelong resident of Bellwood, LA and often referred to her place as her little piece of heaven. She took great pride in taking care of her home place. Anytime the weather permitted you could find her outside mowing, bushing hogging or just enjoying the beauty of her little piece of heaven. She had an eye for beauty and you could see it in her candid shots that she took. Lori Ann attended NSU and decided on teaching as a career. No student every left her classroom with out feeling loved and appreciated. She tried to make each child feel special in any way she could. Lori Ann never had any children of her own but she had a hand in raising numerous, not only those in her classroom but those that lovingly called her Aunt Lori. She will be greatly missed by the teachers, staff and students of Provencal Elementary Junior High. Lori Ann returned to teach at the same school she had attended from Kindergarten - 8th grade, she was proud of her Panther family and would tell anyone that asked that the best school in the district could be found in Provencal. Being an only child, Lori Ann managed to implant herself in everyone’s family. She was a sister and daughter to many in our little town. She meant so much to so many. If, there was a celebration to be had or decorating to be done Lori Ann was at the top of the call list. She would willing give her time to work her magic and turn the most boring of venue’s into vison that everyone dreamed of. Lori Ann was a proud member of Provencal First Baptist Church, which she had attended since she was a teen. She was dedicated to her church family and her community. She always gave of herself so others could have more. She brought joy and mischief where ever she went. Lori Ann will be greatly missed by all that knew her. The little towns of Bellwood and Provencal will never be the same. Yet, all of us are better people because of the love, joy and mischief she brought into all our lives. Lori Ann is survived by her beloved husband, Kelby Savell of Bellwood, LA. Her father-in-law, Freeman Savell and wife Christy; her sister-in-law, Becky Savell Heard, Many, LA; her nephew Kaleb Anderson and wife Grace of Theodore, AL and her nieces Ashlee Anderson of Austin, TX and Paige Heard of Many, LA; and a special sister, Shelia Flores.
