Lomma Peter Sarpy, Jr.

Funeral services for Lomma Peter Sarpy, Jr. will be held at 7 pm Monday, September 27, 2021 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Father John O’Brien officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until 9 pm on Monday the 27th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Lomma was born on June 8, 1954 to Lomma Sarpy, Sr. and Addie Ruth Sarpy. He passed away on September 21, 2021 at Lakeview Medical Center in Covington, LA surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lomma and Ruth Sarpy; paternal grandparents, Charles Calise’ Sarpy and Ellen Chelette Sarpy; and maternal grandparents, Valcour LaCour and Rosa Metoyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Patricia Joy Smith Sarpy; children, Eric Shenera Sarpy and wife Tonya Evette, and Kimberly Claudette Rogers and husband Johnathan; grandchildren, JerMichael, Calvin, and LeMarcus Davis, Eric Shenera, Jr. (Rokesha Mashay) and Ariyonna Tian Sarpy, Johnathan, Jr., Rae’Gan Xylia (Charles), and Sir’Zion Jontavious Rogers; great grandchildren, Kayden, JerMichael, Jr., Mya, Cay’leigh, Keeng, Kylah, and Brooklyn; a sister, Rose Mary Sarpy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Lomma loved driving 18-wheelers cross country. His dedication and hard work eventually allowed him the opportunity to own his own trucking company. Lomma was a loving person and he never met a stranger. He was generous and caring, and would do for others even if it meant he did without. His favorite pastime, when not driving a truck, was to watch numerous episodes of Andy Griffith. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
