Linda Lewallen was born on August 27, 1938 to Jack E. Harrell and Daisy Wright Harrell in DeQueen, AR and passed away on July 29, 2022 in Alexandria, LA at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, Bill Lewallen. She is survived by her children, Jerry Lewallen and wife Pitty of Clarkesville, GA, Doug Lewallen and wife Connie of Natchitoches, LA and Kristy Smith and husband Delous of Destrehan, LA; grandchildren, Kyle Lewallen and wife Caroline and Baylee Smith; a great grandchild, Kemper John Lewallen; a brother, Travis Harrell and wife Judy; a brother-in-law, Dick Lewallen and wife Betty; as well as several nieces and nephews. Linda was a graduate of DeQueen High School in DeQueen, AR. She worked for JTL Trucking in Springdale, AR where she met the love of her life, Bill. Devoted to her family and children, she spent a number of years as a homemaker taking care of their needs. Later she owned and operated the Linen Closet in Natchitoches for five years. She was involved in Tee Up for Kids and Garland County Golf Association in Hot Springs, AR. She was active in the Methodist Church volunteering her time to many functions. Just recently she returned from a family celebration where she was able to spend an extended time with each member of her family. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Natchitoches with Dr. Gary Willis officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 in Bostick Hall at the First United Methodist Church on August 2nd. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital Intensive Care Unit, the ER staff at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and Dr. Chris Ingram for the care and compassion shown during such a difficult time. Donations in Linda’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or to Hope for Paws in Natchitoches.
