Mrs. Linda Marie Evans Crafton, died on March 15, 2023, at the age of 75, of complications resulting from her courageous five-year battle with breast cancer.

Services for Linda were March 21, 2023 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Officiating the service was Rev. Derek Ducote with interment at Fern Park Cemetery, Natchitoches, LA. The family received friends on March 20, 2023, at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. A celebration of her life is to be held in the chapel on St. Paul's School campus, 917 S. Jahncke Ave., Covington, LA 70433, with a reception to follow shortly thereafter.  

Linda was predeceased by her father, Earl Worth Evans, mother, Ada Gallien Evans, infant brother Joseph, all of Natchitoches, LA, and eldest sister, Earleen Ruth Evans, of Shreveport, LA. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 48 years, Dr. Clifford G. Crafton, of Covington, LA, and her beloved son, Clay Adrian Crafton and wife Jenni, grandsons, Miles Bustamante Crafton and Parker Bustamante Crafton, all of Tampa, FL. Linda is also survived by her seven siblings: Diane Mary Evans Wolfe and husband Bert of Temple, TX, Michael Worth Evans and wife Cindy, Donald Joseph Evans and wife Cay, Lillian Margaret Evans Richie and husband Vernon, Alan Earl Evans, Louis Neil Evans and wife Diane, all of Shreveport, LA, and Julia Ann Evans Shows and husband Randy, of Broussard, LA.

Linda was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She worked as an occupational therapist at Southeast Louisiana State Hospital in Mandeville, Louisiana, where she met her husband, Cliff. Linda was devoted to her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She excelled in all things art-related, and loved to work in her yard and flowerbeds. One of her sisters recalled that, “[A]ll she ever wanted was a lawn mower that started.” Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School, 1101 E. 5th Street, Natchitoches, LA, 71457 and The Minor Bascilica of the Immaculate Conception, 145 Church Street, Natchitoches, LA, 71457.
